The Dubuque Star Brewery Complex is a visually dominant five-story brick brew house. Typical of other mid-sized breweries of its day, it is designed in the Romanesque style. It was one of a handful of Iowa breweries to revive after the end of national prohibition in 1933. The film ''F.I.S.T.'' was partly filmed at the brewery.
