For more than 50 years, REM Community Services programs have helped adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and other needs live the full, joyful lives of their own choosing.
We opened our first group home in Minnesota in the 1960s, when there were few community living options for people with disabilities. As leaders in the deinstitutionalization movement, our programs opened doors for people with a wide range of abilities to live their best lives in their communities. Our mission is the same now as it was then: to help each person we serve build the skills and positive relationships they need to live their best lives.
