Box Office M-F 12pm-4pm and 90 minutes before each show
The Grand Opera House, on the National Register of Historic Places, was built in 1889. This was the first and is the longest surviving live performance venue in Dubuque.
The Grand went through a $4.5 million restoration several years ago, making this an outstanding and well-preserved building reminiscent of Dubuque when it was first established. At one point it was converted into a movie theatre, then restored to its original function as a live performing venue. Year round attractions include musicals, plays, comedy, ballet, touring concerts and shows, Free Family Movie Nights, Trivia Night at The Grand, and much more. Most productions are performed by local volunteer talent - adults and youth - who auditioned for their role.
Productions are held year round - tickets an be purchased online, by phone, or by coming to the box office. Season subscriptions also available.
This is a true community theatre that is renowned for its high quality live performance experiences. What's happening at The Grand? Come and see!
