Northeast Iowa Community College in partnership with the Dubuque County Sheriff's Office is pleased to unveil their new Judgmental Use of Force Simulator at the NICC Town Clock Business Center, 680 Main Street in Downtown Dubuque, at 4:30 PM, on Thursday, October 20, 2016.
This simulator consists of a 300 degree platform of 8' by 10' screens that surround the officer. Officers must act in real time to mitigate various threats, using the entire spectrum of application of force including verbal commands, chemical deterrents, conducted energy devices, handguns, shotguns and rifles. The simulator will help law enforcement professionals hone their skills at split second life and death decision making as well as 360 degree situational awareness. There is no comparable training opportunity in the region. Following the ribbon cutting there will be some demonstrations of the equipment and its capabilities.
