Event Description:
The Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce Power Hour will be held Wed., Jan. 8th, 8:00-9:00 AM at Hotel Julien Dubuque. Our featured presenter is Robert Sinkler, Corn Belt Ports Executive Director, sharing "An Overview of the Corn Belt Ports Initiative and the Newly Created Ports of Eastern Iowa Authority (PEIA)"

The Corn Belt Ports Initiative, launched in the fall of 2019, aims to raise the profile of the Corn Belt Ports at both regional and national levels to attract increased investment in infrastructure. The Corn Belt Ports consist of four federally recognized, rural, regional, multi-modal inland ports situated along the Upper Mississippi River and Illinois Waterway. This initiative has already catalyzed over $2 billion in federal and state infrastructure investment to support sustainable, reliable, and cost-effective transportation. Additionally, this presentation will introduce the newly formed Ports of Eastern Iowa Authority (PEIA), covering six counties from Dubuque to Louisa, designed to strengthen regional development and bring benefits to local businesses and communities. Join us for a closer look at these efforts to foster growth and resilience in our heartland transportation networks.

Robert “Bob” Sinkler is the Executive Director of the Corn Belt Ports, overseeing the inland ports within the Corn Belt’s Lock and Dam System on the Upper Mississippi River and Illinois Waterway. A leader in water resource management, Bob previously served as Water Resources Infrastructure Director for The Nature Conservancy and as a senior advisor to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), where he led critical infrastructure projects, including flood protection and hurricane surge systems. Bob also founded Riverside Global, a company focused on sustainable water infrastructure solutions, and has held leadership roles at Allonnia and INTREXON, addressing global environmental challenges.

Power Hour is held monthly from September through May for local business and community leaders to network with colleagues and peers while gaining valuable insight from informative presentations on today's hottest news topics. Powerful Presentations for Business and Personal Success.
