Biblical women of the Passion narratives will be brought to life at Sinsinawa Mound's Lenten Retreat: Women of the Passion, March 5-6, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day, by Sister Mary Ellen O'Dea, OP, a lifelong student of the Scriptures. We know much about Mary, mother of Jesus, and Mary of Magdala, but how much do we know of the women in the Passion narratives of Jesus?
Participants will hear first-person accounts from the unnamed woman who anointed Jesus' head; the unnamed maidservant of Caiaphas; Claudia, wife of Pilate; Mary, wife of Clopas; Joanna, wife of Chuza; the unnamed daughters of Jerusalem; Salome, mother of James and John; and Veronica, who wiped the face of Jesus.
