Join NISOM for some holiday cheer and five hours of free music at Playathon 2017! On Sunday, December 10, NISOM students will present Playathon during A Roshek Holiday. Playathon is a grand public recital for which students collect sponsorships and earn prizes. Students of a variety of ages, skill levels, and instruments will perform in the Roshek Building lobby (700 Locust St, Dubuque) beginning at 1:30PM and ending at 6:30PM.

The recital is free and open to the public; donations will be accepted. Proceeds support lessons at NISOM. Playathon is NISOM’s primary student fundraiser of the year, as well as the first recital of the season. Prior to performing at Playathon, NISOM students work to collect contributions and earn a wide array of prizes as a reward for reaching their goals. These prizes are generously contributed by area businesses.

During the recital, participants and audience members are welcome to enjoy light refreshments, kid’s activities and prize drawings. In an effort to make music education accessible for anyone who is interested, NISOM’s student-paid fees do not cover all the costs associated with providing lesson, and Playathon is one of the ways NISOM and its students make up the difference.
