Event Description:

The Mines of Spain Recreation Area will feature a program on "Native American Love Flute" with Lakota Harker. The program will be held on February 22 at 1:00 pm. The program will be held at the E. B. Lyons Interpretive Center located at 8991 Bellevue Heights south of Dubuque.

Lakota will provide information about the Native American Love Flute and Native American stories, language, music and song. Lakota will start out telling stories about the origin of the flute and the White Calf Woman. He then will speak about the language and speak the language and then translate. Lakota and Dean Wellman will then play Native American Songs with their flutes. There will be several flutes on display for you to look over. There will also be life like props of Native Americans. At the end they will show a film on Crazy Horse that Dean created.
