Event Description:

The Heartland Ballet takes flight, celebrating the 51st year of its parent company Dubuque City Youth Ballet (DCYB) by presenting two new works. Artistic Director Marina O'Rourke will unveil a new, original interpretation of the ballet Firebird set to the glorious music by Igor Stravinsky. Megan MacLeod, Artist-in-Residence, will then present an original contemporary work which will feature the versatile, classically trained dancers of the company.

The program, SOARING, is the perfect vehicle to launch DCYB into its next 50 years, deeply rooted in the company's rich Russian traditions yet innovative and vital, breaking boundaries and exploring new horizons.
