The Dubuque Community String Orchestra will present a free concert on Sunday, October 18, at 2:00PM in the Marble Chapel of Emmaus Bible College, sponsored by Sue and Jim Lindsay. The concert will feature guest violinist Lenore Vardi. Ms. Vardi has performed and/or recorded with Placido Domingo, Michaela Petrie, Itzhak Perlman, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughn, Tony Bennet, and more. She is also an avid professional painter and a former dancer. Samples of her visual art will be on display in the lobby.
The Dubuque Community String Orchestra (DCSO) is a non-auditioned ensemble for adult musicians. The group rehearses Monday evenings at Emmaus Bible College and is sponsored by the Northeast Iowa School of Music (NISOM).
Lenore Vardi will also give a free masterclass on Saturday, October 17 from 10AM-12PM in the Emmaus Bible College Choir Room. Thanks to a grant from James B. and Melita A. McDonough Foundation, the masterclass is free and open to all violinists and violists.
