The Grand Opera House will present "Doubt, A Parable", the Pulitzer Prize winning play by John Patrick Shanley on September 25-27 & October 2-3, 2015. Auditions will be held on Monday, August 3rd 7-9 pm, Tuesday, August 4th 7-9 pm at the Grand Opera House.
"Doubt" will be directed by Carol Blitgen, BVM. Auditions will be held at the theatre: 135 West 8th Street, Dubuque, IA.
Characters:
Sister Aloysius: The principal, Sister Aloysius Beauvier, is in her fifties or sixties. She is watchful, reserved, and unsentimental.
Sister James: She is in her twenties. There's a bit of sunshine in her heart, though she's reserved.
Father Flynn: A priest, Father Flynn is in his thirties.
Mrs. Muller: Mrs. Muller in her late twenties to early fifties (African American), mother of 12 year old Donald Muller, the school's first African American student.
Those auditioning will be asked to read preselected sections form the script. Perusal copies of the selections are available at the Grand Opera House Business Office 135 West 8th St, Dubuque, between 9:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday.
