Stephen Steely of Moline, IL, serves as minister of music at First Lutheran Church, Moline, and pastoral musician at St. Pius X Church, Rock Island, IL, and Temple Emanuel, Davenport, IA. He previously was organist at St. John's Abbey and University, Collegeville, MN, and taught at the College of St. Benedict, St. Joseph, MN; Marycrest College, Davenport, IA; and Eastfield College, Dallas.
Steely's doctoral work was at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, where he studied organ and improvisation with Gerhard Krapf and Delbert Disselhorst. He also holds degrees in organ, sacred music, and music history from Hastings College, Hastings, NE, and Southern Methodist University, Dallas, where he was a student of Robert Anderson. Steely is the area representative for Allen Organs of Iowa, based in Bettendorf.
