Name: Serene Attentiveness - Exploring a Contemplative Ecology Series
Date: June 11, 2016
Time: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM CDT
Event Description:

Sinsinawa Mound will host Serene Attentiveness 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, June 11, part of its Exploring a Contemplative Ecology series. Marking the one-year anniversary of Pope Francis' monumental document, "Laudato Si': On Care for Our Common Home," this retreat will give special attention to what the Pope calls "serene attentiveness."

Participants will have the opportunity to hear an overview of the encyclical, reflect on their own lives in light of its call, and practice a deep awareness of our place within creation. Each participant will gently be invited to respond - head, hands, and heart - to Pope Francis' call to ecological conversion.

Eric Anglada, coordinator of ecological programming at Sinsinawa Mound, and Sister Christin Tomy, who is passionate about environmental justice, are presenting this retreat. or 563-845-0780 or visit our website at www.sinsinawa.org.
