Ribbon Cutting celebrating Solar Panel: The solar array project at Northeast Iowa Community College was constructed in late 2016. This project was developed in conjunction with Eagle Point Solar, Dubuque, Iowa. The solar field is located immediately adjacent to the NICC Child Development Center on campus. This array will provide energy to the Child Development Center and it is estimated to produce 95% of the number of kilowatt hours of energy required to run the facility annually which will generate an estimated $4,000 in energy savings yearly.
The solar array has been in operation since January 2017.
