This June NISOM will bring world-class young professional musicians to the Tri-State area for ChamberFest Dubuque. As part of the festival, local students of all ages and ability levels can work with these phenomenal artists. The workshop is free and open to all. Children through adults are encouraged to participate. Held on Wednesday, June 6, 5:30PM at Clarke University, the workshop begins with a combined session with all the musicians before breaking into small groups for each instrument.

The ChamberFest Workshop will be led by ChamberFest Artistic Director and composer Michael Gilbertson and the 2018 ChamberFest Dubuque guest artists. This year the workshop leaders include; violinist Hanah Stuart a member of the San Diego Symphony, cellist Bridget Pasker who studied at Juilliard and then went on to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, percussionist Evan Saddler who recently earned a master’s degree from Juilliard, pianist David Fung who made his solo recital debut at The Kennedy Center this year, and clarinetist Zach Manzi of Miami’s New World Symphony Orchestra who was featured in his own TED Talk.
The ChamberFest guest artists will also perform a benefit concert on Thursday, June 7 at 7PM in Clarke University’s Jansen Hall. Contact NISOM for tickets.
Thanks to US Bank, a limited number of free tickets are available for students in grades 5-12. Free tickets are intended for students from low and moderate-income families; each student receives 1 student ticket and up to 2 adult tickets. Free tickets are available until May 18 or while supplies last.
