Name: Nature as a Contemplative Practice: Sinsinawa Offers Outdoor Workshop
Date: August 7, 2016
Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM CDT
Event Description:

Those who seek the healing gifts of awe, wonder, and silence are invited to spend some time in nature at Sinsinawa Mound during Nature as Contemplative Practice. Three sessions will be offered, 7-9 a.m. Saturday, July 30; 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7; and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17. People are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions.

Participants will be offered several options of spiritual practices in which to engage, using Sinsinawa Mound’s outdoor resources: the woods, hiking trails, gardens, and labyrinth. Bring a journal, sketch pad, book of poetry, sacred scripture, or just yourself--whatever will help you become closer to the wonders of nature.

The event is free, and no registration is necessary. The days are part of our ongoing Exploring a Contemplative Ecology series. Eric Anglada, coordinator of ecological services at Sinsinawa Mound, will lead the sessions.

For more information, contact Anglada at eric.anglada@gmail.com or visit our website at www.sinsinawa.org. Sinsinawa Mound, the Motherhouse for the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters, is located in southwest Wisconsin on County Road Z, off Highway 11, about five miles northeast of Dubuque.
