Name: Native American Spirituality: Teachings of the Native American Medicine Wheel
Date: March 20, 2018
Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM CDT
Event Description:

Presenter:  Nancy Thompson, 24-Year Student of Native American Spirituality

The Medicine Wheel represents the Native view of the Sacred Web of Life, including respect for Mother Earth and all her inhabitants. It offers a vision of harmony and balance within ourselves, our environment, and all those sharing our planet. Walking the Wheel is a way of doing, being, and becoming that can help us see ourselves as part of the greater Whole.

Please join us in this interactive workshop where we’ll explore the path of this spiritual vision through song, movement, meditation and simple ceremony. Nancy has been a student of Native American philosophy for many years and is a member of the Miniss Kitigan Drum, a non-profit organization supporting the preservation and evolution of Great Lakes Native American traditions.

Since retiring, she enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, volunteering, drumming, storytelling, acting in community theater, and taking care of her companion animals. She is a yoga instructor, and teaches yoga weekly at Shalom.
