As part of Shalom's 25th anniversary, Fr. Tom Hartl OFM will lead a Franciscan Pilgrimage to Italy beginning September 28 and running through October 9, 2014. The group will fly from Chicago to New York City and arrive at Flumicino Airport in Rome. From there they will leave for Assisi to visit Francis of Assisi and Clare of Assisi?s places of San Damiano, Basilica of St. Francis, the Portizuncola, the caves where Francis prayed in, La Verna, Basilica of St. Clare, Greccio and other places where Francis and Clare lived. As part of this religious expedition, the group will celebrate Mass daily at one of the sites. On day seven, the group will return to Rome to visit the Vatican, having a group private audience with the pope and tour Rome. On October 9, the group will depart for the USA.
