Maestro Intriligator has invited the exceptionally talented Italian conductor and pianist Gianna Fratta to conduct this program of audience favorites. Italian violinist Dino De Palma is featured as soloist in beautiful and virtuosic works by Paganini and Saint-Saëns.
This concert demonstrates music from the world of opera as well as music’s relationship with dance, since Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony was called “the apotheosis of the dance” by composer Richard Wagner because of its obsessive use of dance rhythms.
