The Northeast Iowa School of Music's (NISOM) summer audience-favorite Juilliard in June has grown into the multi-event ChamberFest Dubuque featuring two concerts with ChamberFest Artistic Director Michael Gilbertson and six talented visiting musicians.
First, on Monday, June 15, 2015, Nicholas Palmer will return to conduct the ChamberFest Orchestra concert in Butler Hall in the University of Dubuque's Heritage Center at 7:00PM. The Orchestra Concert will include a full orchestra comprised of local musicians performing repertoire that highlights the visiting artists as featured soloists. This Salute to the Boston Pops is an evening of light classics, popular and movie music, and some exciting new works!
On Thursday, June 18, Gilbertson and friends will perform again for NISOM's ChamberFest Gala concert (formerly Juilliard in June). The ChamberFest Gala will be held at 7:00PM in Jansen Hall at Clarke University, and the program includes solos and small ensembles showcasing the artists with a champagne reception to follow. Each concert features different repertoire, bringing two unique opportunities for audiences to hear these rising stars in concert.
NISOM thanks ChamberFest Orchestra Concert sponsors Tim and Christine Conlon, and John and Alice Butler with Gala sponsor U.S. Bank.
