Catholic Sisters in the Dubuque area invite the public to several open house events Sunday, Feb. 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. featuring tours, refreshments, and a 2:30 p.m. prayer service at each location to celebrate the Year of Consecrated Life declared by Pope Francis for 2015.
Along with Sinsinawa Mound, the motherhouse of the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters in Wisconsin, participating motherhouses in Dubuque, Iowa, include Mount Carmel, home of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary; Mount Loretto, home of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary; and Mount St. Francis, home of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Family. The Sisters of the Visitation will cohost the open house with the Sisters of the Presentation. The Trappistine Sisters at Our Lady of the Mississippi Abbey invite the public to a talk on Cistercian life at St. Benedict Welcome Center at 4 p.m. followed by a holy hour in the church at 4:30 p.m.
