Eric Anglada, the ecological programming coordinator at Sinsinawa Mound, will lead a book discussion group on “Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants” by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Kimmerer offers “a braid of stories meant to heal our relationship with the world.”
As a botanist and member of Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Kimmerer writes profoundly and eloquently on natural history, ecology, and Native American culture. In a review, Elizabeth Gilbert, author of “Eat, Pray, Love,” wrote, “Robin Wall Kimmerer is a writer of rare grace. She writes about the natural world from a place of such abundant passion that one can never quite see the world the same way after having seen it through Kimmerer’s eyes. She is a great teacher, and her words are a hymn of love to the world.”
Join us for our discussion, having read some of or the entire book, which is available at Sinsinawa Book and Gift Gallery.
