ARK Advocates will be hosting its 8th annual Roll & Sole-a-thon fundraiser on Saturday, May 4. This event encourages teams of all ages and abilities to walk or “roll” with us to help raise money for ARK Advocates. All proceeds stay local and assist persons with disabilities through ARK Advocates’ respite program, adaptive equipment lending library and financial assistance.
Participants can either bike, rollerblade or walk the route or engage in the group ride. There will also be fun activities such as a DJ, face painting, wheelchair basketball, adaptive bikes, group photos and food provided by Buenie Bottoms Outdoor Grill.
Local physical therapists and Clarke Physical Therapy students will provide support to those with special needs who would like to try out adaptive equipment like an adaptive bike. The Roll & Sole a Thon starts at 11:00 a.m.
The adult registration fee is $25, children ages 12 and under are $12 and the family rate is $60. Prizes will be awarded to the largest team, the team who raised the most money, and the team with the most spirit.
Teams can register online at http://getmeregistered.com/rollandsoleathon.
